The 'Bestuurskantoor' (government office) built in 1837 between Fort Orange and Plasa Wilhelmina (Wilhelmina square) is from the same period as Fort Orange, the colonial years. It was originally built as the governor's home. It is an impressive building with two stories. It is now in use by the central government of Bonaire since it was restored in 1972.
